I trained and performed in many different dance disciplines and to this day dance remains a passion. A work of a dancer is to give joy and excitement to others and I found a similar connection through my teaching which I soon came to love. I have found great healing and nourishment through the mindful practices of Yoga and Pilates. After becoming a certified in Pilates Matwork (Steele Pilates NY), DEL Certificate and Yoga (QYC) I began teaching. My world expanded dramatically. I had the privilege to experience, connect and share my love of movement beyond the studio and stage and into the lives of all types of people and personalities. I am eternally thankful to all my teachers. From whichever discipline they draw, their influence has given me the inspiration to keep growing, learning, sharing and finding joy in our amazing and unique bodies!
I first started Yoga during my professional studies in Dance and continued to practice Yoga as a means to maintain my body and mainly my sanity! during my career in Dance. It was during this time I discovered the value, depth and beauty in the Yogic philosophy in relation to the physical body and decided to take my studies further. I took a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Diploma and then eventually took the step to travel and study for a teacher certificate in India. My time in India was truly transformative. It was here I learnt about the roots and essence of what makes Yoga special. From classical texts, meditation, mantra and asana (the physical practice) and so much more. On returning I continued my studies and gained a second teachers diploma from The British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Nidra certification from the Satayanda School and Pregnancy Yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli. My teachers, colleges and students in both dance and Yoga, past and present, always will and are a great inspiration to me.
